Civility Counts Project

Jennifer’s Civility Counts Project for her internship with Powerful Appearance Spring 2011, was to ask twenty-five of her college friends to sign the AICI’s Civility Counts Pledge which has a list of eight components of civility. She interviewed her friends in person, by telephone, and by Facebook. While asking them to sign the pledge she took note of their questions, reactions to one or more of the components, whether they felt they could genuinely sign the pledge, and did they consider these elements to be the base of civility.

Additionally, she discussed their definitions of civility, whether society today is civil, and if there is a problem, ideas on how to promote civility and to suggest solutions.
